Setting your goals is fundamental to achieving success no matter what you desire, including losing weight and becoming healthier. Accomplishing your goals in a step wise fashion on your weight loss journey will give you a sense of achievement and boost your self confidence to increase your enthusiasm to continue and persevere.

The Rules of Threes

There are three essential questions that you must ask yourself regarding goal setting:

  • What do you want?
  • Where are you going?
  • What are you willing to do to get there?

Once you have answered these three questions, achieving your goals is a three step process:

  • Create a mental picture of your goals.
  • Write down your goals to visualize your goals.
  • Take action towards accomplishing your goals.

Envision Your Goals Mentally

The first action you must do is to envision your goals in your mind. Create a mental picture of your goals. Expect to achieve these goals. Keep a clear picture of your and how you are going to look and feel when you lose weight. These are mighty actions that will help you achieve your goals.

Our thoughts and expectations can provoke tremendous powers on how we envision ourselves. We may not receive all that we desire in life, but we usually receive no more than what we expect or think that we can achieve. If we can envision it in our minds, we are more likely to achieve our goals.

We visualize what we believe. Unfortunately, this idea can work as much against us as it can for us. If we always think negative thoughts, if we surround ourselves with negative people, if we dwell on the negative, these actions and thoughts will only lead to negative consequences.

Conversely, if we always think positive and visualize positive thoughts of success, we are more likely to achieve it. Make your thoughts work for you instead of against you. Maintain a positive attitude towards your vision and you’re more likely to attain your goal.

Record Your Goals

One of the best ways to visualize your goals is to write them down. Read them every day to remind yourself of where you are going. See how close you are getting to meeting your goals.

Called the Measurements Tracking Journal, it can help you write down your weight and other measurements and graph them so you can see your success. This is available to members who sign on with our Associate Physicians. Seeing success is always a boost of motivation to persist.

Take Action for a Helathier You

Whatever your goals are, you must take action to achieve these goals. The more weight you lose through the True HCG Diet, the more motivated you will be to continue losing weight. The program also helps you to change your lifestyle to maintain that weight. If you persist, these will become habits.

Remember to set “baby step” goals and not “giant leaps”. Create short term goals, such as losing 15 to 20 pounds in 40 days; and reward yourself every step of the way. But don’t reward yourself with more food; this would be counterproductive and create negativity in your life. Don’t set yourself up for failure but empower yourself to succeed.

Guidlines to Goal Setting

Set your goals and your mind to thinking positive. Surround yourself with positive influences no matter where you are. Set yourself up to build up your self confidence, not to tear it down.

Focus on changing your lifestyle. Remember, if you keep doing the same thing, you’re going to get the same results. To lose weight, focus on eating differently and exercising more. The True HCG Diet helps you to learn about these changes and to create better habits. These changes along with the HCG Diet will make the extra weight melt off quickly.

Set specific and concrete goals for yourself. The more specific you can define your goals, the more likely you will remember them and accomplish them. Try not to be too vague or broad, for these may be too difficult to achieve.

Set reasonable and realistic goals. Set goals to succeed, not to fail. If you set your weight-loss goal too high, such as 20 pounds in one week, you are doomed to fail. Don’t do this. It is better to set your goal at a more reasonable amount and feel good about losing ½ to 1 pound per day on the True HCG Diet. In fact, this is much quicker than the usual 1 to 2 pounds per week one sees with other diet programs.

Set up your reward system. When you accomplish your “baby steps” give yourself your predetermined reward. Build a reward system into your lifestyle changes. If you can’t think of any, use some of our recommendations and examples discussed in some of our motivation articles.

Set the times to achieve your goals, but begin now. Don’t wait on tomorrow to begin setting your goals, the future is uncertain. Don’t be harsh on yourself because you didn’t do it yesterday, the past is done. Live your life for today, which means that you begin changing your life today towards improved health. You will feel happier and more energized. Enjoy the wonderful gifts you have been given today to improve your health and you will reap the benefits for years to come.
