The HCG Diet Plan comes in 4 phases. The first phase is the loading phase where one can eat whatever he desires to. This phase lasts for 3 days and is perhaps the phase that you will enjoy the most since there are no dietary restrictions during this phase.

The second phase brings with itself a lot of dietary restrictions and recommendations. During this phase you can take 500 calories per day. Your entire diet is divided into two meals. In this diet there must be no fat, sugar or starch. You are allowed to take only those food items that are listed on the food guide of the program. You must then devotedly continue this program for 6 continuous weeks. You can also start off with exercise during the second week of the phase.

During this phase, one is recommended to intake 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab or shrimp. All fats must be removed carefully and the food must not be fried or breaded but should be baked, boiled or grilled. You must also weigh your meat raw.

When it comes to vegetables, only one vegetable can be out of Spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green beans, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage. Fruits can also be consumed but only an apple, orange, some strawberries or grapefruit.

Among other foods, only lemon juice is allowed. Oil or butter cannot be used for dressing and only alt, pepper, vinegar, mustard power, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, etc can be used.

Drinks that mostly do not contain sugar like tea, coffee, plain water, crystal light, diet sodas and mineral water can be taken. At least 6-8 glasses of water are recommended every day.

When one reaches the third phase, then it might be that after continuing with HCG for a prolonged period of 40 days, your body stops responding to its effect.
